Holy Conviction
A Holy Conviction begins to emerge as we take to heart both God's calling and His ability to provide what we need to pursue that calling. In Village's 50 plus years of ministry, God has never failed to provide for our needs. A casual conversation between a Forest Grove pastor and a former Dixie Mountain deacon led to a $10,000 loan to purchase land and construct a building for a new church start called Village Baptist Church.
In 1966, with attendance averaging around 230, Villagers worked side-by-side laying the foundation for a new, 450-seat sanctuary. Twenty years later a small piece of rope encouraged everyone to sacrifice and pull together to build Children's Village. Today, thanks to their vision and sacrifice, 560 children learn about Jesus each week.
Holy Conviction comes as we recognize the gracious hand of our God upon us. It is Holy Conviction that moves us to begin Realizing the Vision.
Lord what do you want to do through me to realize your vision for Village?
Now it becomes personal. Am I willing to suffer a little Holy Discontent? Does the state of the church in America cause me to mourn? Do I truly believe we here at Village can have an impact throughout Washington County and around the world?
If so, join us first in a call to Holy Prayer.
Pray that...
- God will be glorified through Realizing the Vision.
- Many will volunteer their time to Realizing the Vision.
- Every Villager will follow God's leading to participate in Realizing the Vision.
- God will show you what He wants to do through you to realize His vision for Village.
