Shaped by History, Led by a Vision
It started in 1949 with one man committed to a vision, a vision to build a church where no church existed. Before there were any members gathered to worship or ushers to pass an offering plate, God provided a $10,000 loan to buy land and build a building.
Twenty-five years later, the 50 families who made up Village Baptist Church caught hold of another vision. They worked together to build an even larger sanctuary, so that more people could join them in worshipping God.
Today more than 1,500 people worship in that very sanctuary each weekend. And today we’ve been given another vision—a vision to be a community of faith, living Christ-like lives; reaching out to our neighbors across the street and around the globe in Jesus’ name.
