February 2009 Building Project Update

This update is also available in PDF format in English, Korean, and Spanish.

What's New?

Walls are up and steel framing is up for the three floors, sanctuary and roof. You may have noticed additional crews on site as construction progresses towards the June completion deadline.

What else is new? Let's walk around the site and find out. As you come and go, take a moment to walk around to the north side of the building—where you'll find a fenced temporary opening. Walk ahead and look inside. This is the new sanctuary. This space will seat about 800-1000 people—depending upon how the seats are configured. As you face south, the stage area will be to the right and the lobby, lounge and classrooms to the left—all on the Main Floor. Now look above the main floor to the 3rd Floor. This is our future expansion area. The front half of this space—facing the sanctuary—will be for a future balcony; the other half—facing the rear parking lot—will be for additional classrooms.

Now walk down below to the rear parking lot and the open space between the existing and new buildings. This is the Plaza area. You'll see concrete footings for new stairs and the first stages of a cascading waterfall feature—all just across from the recently landscaped banks of Cedar Creek. While you're there also look inside to the Lower Level where there will be new childcare and more classroom facilities.
