Building for a Better Future (October 2008)
This update is also available in PDF format in English and Korean.
What's All the Noise About??
Ask our neighbors—there has been a lot of construction activity going on over the last several weeks.
- Underground water, sewer and storm drainage lines have been installed.
- The basement wall has gone up and slab floor completed.
- Cedar Creek is looking better with blackberry bushes gone replaced with new grass and fencing.
- Finally, the concrete and asphalt rubble pile has been chewed up into reusable gravel needed for backfilling.
What's Next?
Backfilling—against the basement wall—will take place in the upper level sanctuary area. Footings then will be completed and the floor slab poured. Three-story wall panels will also be framed in preparation for their "tilt-up" in December.
As always, keep in mind that the number of parking spaces and traffic patterns will change as construction progresses. On the weekends, we will have parking attendants and shuttle movers strategically located to help you through the construction maze and get you to and from the front doors.
