Each month you will receive a Building Project Update—that will be placed in the church bulletin, display holders and online—describing the progress to date on our new "Worship Center." You will be able to check the Estimated Timeline and see where we are in our march to breaking ground this coming summer.
So, what's been happening? During November, we continued to meet with our professional Design and Construction Team that is working on the exact location and arrangement of the different spaces that will be within the "Worship Center." Preliminary plans will be coming out in January showing the overall design to date.
Worship Center Project Overview
- The "Worship Center" will consist of a sanctuary, lobby, courtyard, nursery, toddler and class/meeting rooms and support space. Overall size will be about 32,500 square feet located just north of our present facilities.
- The building will be concrete tilt-up and designed to be expandable (e.g., a future balcony) and flexible in use.
- Total project budget is from $11.6 million to $12.8 million.
- The budget includes all design, construction, permit fees, escalation, contingency and special equipment costs such as a new organ, piano, and A/V and lighting systems.
Prayer Request
This month's prayer request is for a "Worship Center" design that will satisfy both Village's Vision and budget objective. The Architect and General Contractor continue to work on the basic design of our new "Worship Center" so that our need to gather and connect is affordably met. The entire professional Design and Construction Team meets weekly to help achieve that goal.
