Weekly Prayer Reminder: 2-16-2009
- On Monday the last steel girder was lifted in place spanning the new sanctuary. These girders are 120 feet wide. (The span in our existing sanctuary is about 52 feet.) During the rest of this week trusses will be welded in place between these steel girders completing the basic roof structure for the Worship Center.
- Work on the Lower Level and Main Floor continue with spot welding of the metal decking and plumbing, heating and electrical systems underway. The concrete pour for the Main Floor/Lobby area is also scheduled for later this week.
Question of the Week: When finished will the exterior of the new Worship Center have an all concrete look? Not really. There will be some horizontal lap siding on all four sides of the building. You can see exactly where the siding will be by looking at the brown-colored wall sections shown on the elevation plans hanging in the lobby OR by looking very closely at the rough textured concrete wall sections. Any remaining exposed concrete will be painted. Landscaping and outdoor lighting will also enhance the exterior look of the building.
