Weekly Prayer Reminder: 3-31-2008
Final construction drawings are in full swing with some minor changes occurring along the way. As you may recall, we will be constructing 3 floors: Lower Level with childcare and 3 multi-use classrooms; Main Floor with sanctuary seating for 800-1000 persons, 2 multi-use classrooms, a big lobby with coffee/tea bar, a lounge and fireplace; and a 3rd Floor with over 10,000 square feet of expansion area. We will also be developing an outdoor Plaza with covered walkways, water features, landscaping, tables and seating.
The remaining project schedule—which will take us to groundbreaking—is as follows:
- April 11, 2008—Building shell and site drawings completed
- April 14-25, 2008—Building shell and site bidding phase
- May 5, 2008—Final cost (80% of GMP) for building shell and site improvements
- May 9, 2008—Interior drawings completed
- May 12-23, 2008—Interior bidding phase
- May 17-18, 2008—Informational meetings
- May 30, 2008—Final cost (20% of GMP) for interior work
- May 31-June 1, 2008—Informational meetings
- June 8, 2008—Congregational meeting
- The week of June 16th—Site mobilization and office wing demolition begins
Also, some very important—yet mundane—permits are now being processed by Clean Water Services, Washington County and the City of Beaverton: Erosion Control and 1200-C; Grading Permit; and Temporary Use Permit for relocating the portable offices. The Demolition Permit application is now being prepared by Group Mackenzie Architects and should be submitted to Washington County in the next 2 weeks.
