Weekly Prayer Reminders: 4-14-2008
The clock is ticking and summer is nearly here. "Only 8 weeks to go before......" See below for this month's Building Project Update which will also be placed in this week's church bulletin. There is no shortage of things to pray about.
Final construction drawings are nearly complete for the new "Worship Center". As you may recall, three floors will be constructed for an estimated total project cost of $11.6 to $12.8 million. The 3 floors include:
- Lower Level with nursery and toddler care and 3 multi-use classrooms;
- Main Floor including a sanctuary with 800-1000 seats, baptismal, new piano and organ, 2 multi-use classrooms, an expandable lobby and lounge area with nearby coffee/tea bar and fireplace; and a
- 3rd Floor with over 10,000 sq. ft. of expansion area for a future 300-seat balcony and additional classrooms.
We will also be constructing an outdoor Plaza with more than 10,000 square feet of space including covered walkways, water features, landscaping, benches, cafe tables and seating.
How much "new" Sanctuary, Classroom and Lobby space will be built?

We are about 8 weeks away from mobilizing the construction crews and beginning the relocation of utilities and demolishing the office wing. The remaining project schedule is as follows:
- April 14-25, 2008 — Building exterior and site bidding phase
- May 7, 2008 — Final cost (80% of GMP) for building exterior and site improvements
- May 9, 2008 — Interior drawings completed
- May 12-23, 2008 — Interior bidding phase
- May 17-18, 2008 — Informational Meetings
- May 30, 2008 — Final cost (20% of GMP) for interior work
- May 31-June 1, 2008 — Informational Meetings
- June 8, 2008 — Congregational Meeting
- The week of June 16th — Construction mobilization
- Doors open July - September 2009!
